Eating like a bird

One of the most typical birds of the Dead Sea region is Tristram's grackle, a starling which can be seen throughout the area, whizzing past in a flash of scarlet and black or perched in trees and rocks. Tristram's Grackle or Starling is characterized by its strident voice, black feathers, orange-spotted wing tips and black tail. The two Traistram's Starlings in the photo are having breakfast at a Dead Sea hotel. The photo was taken on February 17, 2007.
