Acrylic on canvas, with gold and bronze paint. Christmas gift for my sister Kallie, who wanted " a red rose, with a cool black background and chinese writing". tried to get the look of brocade fabric for the background. the chinese characters say "floating red petal". (and not sure why the colors are kind of off in the pics, in the original the rose IS bright red, and no green tint on the right side) 16 inches by 20 inches. completed October 8 2006. copyright jeff ostrowski.
