Last Light

This was photographed with a 300mm lens from the shores of Maligne Lake as the last of the sunlight was slipping off the mountains. I waited until the foreground mountain was in shadow to capture the contrast between the blue light on the snow on that mountain and the pink light on the snow of the background mountain.

Very interesting color & contrast you captured! I also see an other worldly look to it, as if it could be terrain on another planet....

Artist Reply: And you know, the funny thing is that after having read about other planets I have come to realize there are a certain number of similarities between planets. So rocks, sand, lava, mountains, and snow or ice can be found on many worlds. Often enough, there are places on earth that seem otherworldy. But other worlds may very well have places that seem most familiar to us.

A very artistic and awesome photograph Peter (you postcard is on its way to you!)

Artist Reply: Thank you, Thea. I look forward to the postcard. I haven't heard about your address. Maybe I can find it in your gallery. I'll check.

Patience pays off Peter. A great shot.

Artist Reply: Patience, yes. But I was continuously scanning the landscape for other developments. Sometimes it's a question of coming back to the scene on time.
