Wild Strawberries

WHile visiting over the summer at my sister's home in Maryland, I noticed the yard was filled with something other than just grass. I looked down and was tickled to see there were wild strawberies everywhere. My sister hadn't even noticed! I used to hunt these as a youth, and they are edible, yet do not have the sweet taste of the ones you buy at the store. Still, there are good, but small. I was futher blessed that the photo came out better than I could imagine in the late afternoon sky.

I know them. They also grow in the Netherlands

Artist Reply: Thanks Thea! They grow in a number of varieties in the USA and I know I found some variety when I lived in England as well.

Artist Reply: Thanks Blue Doll! I was looking all about, taking photos of some cats, and saw a red berry. I realized the cats were sitting on a wild berry patch.

BEAUTIFUL SHOT!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Joke! These are very small berries and low to the ground. I was hoping to find some wild violets, but these were a wonderful surprize.
