White objects are some of the hardest things to paint, and you did a great job with this. The small white/purple flowers in this arrangement are exceptional. The only suggestions I can make are to create more shadow under the flower that is lying on the table. If the jug makes a shadow, the flower on the table would be making a little more of a shadow than you have here. Also suggest that the ivy/fern parts that are dangling over the jug would also create some more shadowing. Maybe also darken the part of the stem that is further away from the viewer too, to create more depth. The mums on the right part of the painting are especially good!
Artist Reply: Thanks Darla,
This the first painting I did with my new instructor. I have been taking classes in Covington with Susan Adams at the Art Gallery.
