A Young Coastal Brown Bear at the Brooks Fall area of Katmai National Park in Alaska fishing for salmon who are on their way to their original birthplace to spawn and then die..Just one of the hurdles and hazards of their long journey that began from the ocean. It is amazing that they can track the route from the ocean up many streams/rivers to where they were hatched.. The bite marks on the bear are from a previous fight with another bear.

A great classic shot. I'm always amazed at how agile these bears are at catching leaping salmon in their mouths.
