Back on Apr. 27, we decided to explore a new trail. There was no snow at the trailhead, but we ended up in 5-6 ft. of snow at the lake. ...(To bad we left the snowshoes in the truck). It snowed during the entire hike and at the lake the winds were horrid . The lake was still 90% under ice. We found shelter in a tree-well near a stream to have lunch... then hurry back to the truck. Less than two months later, last week, we hiked in 78 degree weather to the sunny-side of the lake. We had a wonderful lunch, with no hurry getting back... :)
