This photo looks very melancholy, which I personally tend to enjoy capturing in photography. The sepia tone with overlay layer-mode help bring the light tones forward and push the darks. The viewer doesn't need to see the entire image to realize the sadness that is happening here. One critique...the areas of the hand and shoulder that are washed out could maybe use some texture also. They appear a bit flat. Some added 'noise' or 'film grain' maybe would help.
