MAKE THE LEAP 16X20 Digital Collage 2002 I began sketching an idea for a fairy girl flying around a sunflower. As the idea progressed I took a photo of a gorgeous sunflower head in the backyard and scanned it. It started a chain reaction of filling my screen with bright yellow colored flowers and a field of green leaves on a faded blue horizon. The girl was scanned from a dance book and a new head with golden hair was added to create an elegant body hovering with vivid butterfly wings. I added a magnificent rainbow in the back to fill the space with as much color as possible. The arc of type was added last to inspire anyone who doesn't think a change is possible, to "make the leap"...
