This painting was a direct commission request by a customer who enjoyed my work. Directly inspired by the painting Landscape Moods Series: Number 1, painted in 2003, and British landscapes, this piece shows a maturing of my style from previous pieces created in this Landscape Moods Series. This piece was painted with a combined traditional and abstract style, creating a contemporary take on a long practiced subject matter. Acrylic washes in the background create a textural sky line and an added depth. The differentiation of the foreground is developed by using thick impasto paints, with a palette knife and a large brush for added texture. ORIGINAL ARTWORK SIZE: 36 X 24 X 1.5 inches.
