Upwind/Downstream

What can I say? This image was painted from memory, from experience, from some channeling, many decades ago, when I was 22 years old. I feel I've left my best image for last (for now! :) I cannot comment on what this image/painting means to me, or how it has affected my life since, except to say that I wanted at the time to include everything in it: the good, the bad, the positive & negative, the up/down/in/out--from/with/around/ to--the whole "kitchen sink" of experience, of the universe and this world. And I haven't been disappointed. It felt at times, while painting it, as though it was destined to be my last act on earth. Instead, it was a new opening, a worm-hole, if you will, a whole that came back to invite me further... Spirit works in strange ways... But I think I will never be able to revisit that same energy and wholeness/insight--of that time, ever again--to this degree. That window has closed, but many other doors have opened because of this painting. It has vastly changed my life. This is probably my best, most comprehensive work I've ever done, I feel. Oil on canvas, 74" x 54", Private Collection.

I love this...Looks like you traveled with the heavenly guides...I know you had some deep awakening...I can feel it...Awesome work. I feel like I am floating above all cares when I look at this. May all the truths of life be yours. Sincerely CB

Artist Reply: Thanks, Christine. It certainly did feel as though there were "the guides" around, bringing in light from faraway places...maybe the center of the galaxy. Yes, this one was a real awakening, a true epiphany!

Michael, so profound and prolific! Deep and meaningful yet mysterious! I see so much in this, gives me a little insight to you! Beautiful image, and so well done, bravo!!! Laurie :)

Artist Reply: Thanks, Laurie. There's so much more to see in the original (approx. 5 x 7'), than in this greatly reduced image. I fervently hope that this one lands in a museum someday, so that everyone can come by and discover all that for him/her self, in more than a passing glance. I say that not as the creator of this work, but as a facilitator of the spirit of this that came through me. Yes, there's a lot to see in here--more than can be gleaned from this jpg! :)--and very little of its credit goes to me for its creation... Thank you.

Wow a whole other world

Artist Reply: Indeed, Lacy... but it's also the world we inhabit NOW. (Well, it was the world of the 70's--and that's changed considerably since then)--but some things--the vision of what and who we are in this Universe and world, is something constant, never changing.... Thanks for your comment!
