Taking the Ultimate Marvel Golden Age Captain America, the World War 1 Union Jack and the Golden Age Red Guardian I made a pulp comic cover. I forgot where I got the 3 heroes from (somewhere on Google Image Search), used the magic eraser on the white areas. I then painted a background that faded yellow color. Then for each layer, I used the Texture Filter to give it a wrinkly feel to it. I then saved it for the web at which point I faded everything slightly.
