Flowering Dogwood

One of the first things that Native Americans shared with their children was how to make dentifrices, toothbrushes and chewing sticks from the fresh stems and twigs of numerous herbs, shrubs and trees. Children quickly learn the safest and best botanicals to use in their own area. Most Dogwoods, including the flowering type were used for this purpose.
