17th Century Mill

Built in 1661 and used as a saw mill and a corn mil down the years. The stream runs through the tall gate to drive the water wheel and is still used today for wood craft. The water cannot be seen in this picture, as the bank is high and steep will a lot of overgrowth. This oil painting is set in the late afternoon as the sun was setting.
