Reading Dragon

This young papercut dragon who is reading a book about dragons was created as a Christmas gift for (ironically, I guess) a man named George. :-) He desperately wanted my "Descending Dragons" papercutting, but it sold this year at the opening weekend of Faire. So...Faced with too little time (aren't we all always battling THAT?) and knowing what an avid reader George is--I came up with this guy. He's framed in a 12"x12" shadow box frame now (because of his depth). Beyond the paper which I cut with a razorblade, I also incorporated a few glass rhinestones for sparkle, and specially created fabric on the book's cover. It was a lot of fun to get together the whole thing before the holiday gift-exchange (a few minutes late at night) while George watched tv just a room away, and a good chunk of time split between two other days and Wah-Lah! Done! :-)

Such a fun image! It sounds like you had fun creating him, even if you were under a bit of a time crunch! Great job!
