Low Tide (Leigh-On-Sea, Essex)

At low tide, the Thames estuary at Leigh-on-Sea in Essex is littered with stranded boats and people searching among the mudflats for shells and other 'treasures' left by the retreating waters. This painting captures the scene in early autumn on an unusually bright and warm day for that time of year. Size of the painting is 70 cm x 60.5 cm. It is unframed. It is signed by the artist This original work was painted in acrylics on stretched canvas. The sides of the canvas have been painted, so it does not necessarily need framing. This painting has been sold. Please note: Depending on the setting of your monitor, the colours may appear slightly different from those of the original painting. Also you must appreciate that it is impossible to convey all the subtleties of texture, tone and hue of the original work in a digital photograph.
