Living Doll

This is Cherry Ann Knapp...the daughter of Emmett Kelly, Jr. getting ready to do a surprise performance for her famous clown father at his 80th Birthday Bash last November. His birthday is coming up this Sunday, Nov. 13th and I tought this would be appropriate to post in his honor! I just did this and sent it to Cgerry as a special gift from me to her. It is a digital photograph, enhanced in several programs to end up what is is today. That weekend was the first time she ever "clowned" and she did it as a total surprise to Emmett...and she did a bang up job! You would have thought she had been doing it all her life!

Hello Patti Jo!! I envy your world and admire your talent and goood spirit. I loved Emmet and Emmet Jr. You are blessed to know them...such a wonderful chance to Know the descendents family of the most cherished clowns in all the world. In my heart I feel this is so. Please tell them of my devotion to their work and life. I am sure your Living Doll is pleased with what you have done. This image stands alone, arms outstrecthed with love, open and waiting to be accepted like a forgotten memory of days innocent, childhood joy...I love Raggedy Anne too. It was the most coveted doll when I was a child. The endearing appeal shall never fade. Thank you for taking the time to comment on some of my work. I was pleased to read your comments. You have brightened my day tremendously. I am thrilled to meet you here on AW. I hope all you do is blessed with love. I remember you... and shall never forget...Sincerely CB

There is a certain sadness about this work.

Artist Reply: Thanks for the comment Bruce...and you are right! There is supposed to be. She is supposed to be a dirty, discarded, unloved old Raggity Ann Doll that Emmett Kelly, Jr. discovers takes in to love.
