Bald eagles winter here every year and can be found around open water along the river. You can spend hours trying to get a decent photo, and then it takes luck. This day one majestic fellow cooperated and put on quite a show. Within minutes of arriving this one decided he was hungry and started cruising for dinner. The gull in the picture looks small compared to the eagle but he had a wing span of about 12". The beautiful eagle had close to a 5-6 foot wingspan!
