Space Needle

The space needle was built for the Seattle World's Fair in 1962. It was designed by an unlikely artist, Edward "Eddie" E. Carlson, who was president and CEO of Westin Hotels at the time. He later became CEO of United Airlines and I had the pleasure of working under his leadership and vision for many years. His design would become the internationally known symbol for Seattle. This was taken with the Nikon D70 looking across Lake Union.
