This is a portrait of an actress from Brooksville, the town I live in. The photo was taken in 1945. The original picture stood out to me because of the drastic shadows and the unique figure in which she is resting her arm. Not to mention her bold beauty as well. It just seemed like the perfect piece! It was my first drawing done in charcoals. I think it came out pretty good though. The hardest part was getting the tiny details of the eyes and lips. They could have been better, but I'm pleased with the results. Overall, I spent about 5 hours working. Let me know what you think!?
