Die For Your Faith

I figured I should put up a good pure pencil pic before everone got the impression I could only draw inked chibis. Well, the idea for this pic came from a scene at the end of the movie Triple X, where a some chick is doing her makeup using the shiney gun barrel. Well I figured I couldn't pull that off, but it did give me this idea. Well, after I started drawing this then some of the pic was inspired by a song by Mortification intitled Martyrs. Welp, I love this pic, hope you do too. Leave Comments... ----------------------------------------------- Mortification: Martyrs------------------------------------------------------ [Chorus] Die for your faith, die for your faith, die for your faith, die for what you believe in ------------------------------ [Verse 1] Small group in Cambodia, gather in the mud brick room, teachers shares The Word, then they kneel and pray, communist soldiers storm the door, throw the Bible to the floor, spit upon this book or you will breath your last one by one they spit and cry they're in fear of their lives a young girl wipes her Jesus dry shot in the head she dies. [Chorus repeat] ------------------------------ [Verse 2] Evil man killing the christians satan gives him the false abuse, but as he reads The Bible truth, he converst to the Christian Faith, taken to the evil leaders, he is a disgrace thrown into a slime filled pit, eaten by rats for his new Faith. [Chorus repeat] ---------------------------------- [Verse 3] Preaching man in china, taken from his family home, thrown into a prison cell, for no criminal reason, rotting and tortured in his fate, he will not deny his Faith, he knows the truth of Christian ways, no brutal force will make him change. [Chorus repeat]

the eyelid looks a little thin,i cant tell the gender of this person, if its a boy: i would have expected no eyelashes. just an eyelid. or if there were some, not quite so long.if its a girl, thicker eyelid, as well as possibly thicker eyelashes. but other than that this pic is really good. especially how you did the pistol. the lack of emotion on their face really speaks to me. they know they're going to die because of their faith; and they've accepted it. good job. (p.s. i like the widescreen effect. i should try that sometime)

Artist Reply: Thanks for the tips, I don't know the gender either. lol. I switched the persons gender several times durring the drawing. It started as a guy. I actually got the general look of the eye from a manga drawing book. The pupil was not near as big though.

Hi Joel Let me 1st say your drawing skills for animation are Wonderful however your subject and content are not that of your character.. if you begin to draw the things you love in life I think your work would surpass anything you could absorb from others works.. You are a phenominal young man with an Awesome plan for the future. Begin to put it on paper in the form of Art ... I Just Can't Wait to See It !!! and I'll keep watching !!! Be Blessed !!

Artist Reply: Thank you! I'm really not sure how to respond to this comment... but uh. This is one of the things I love in life. It portrays me a little more than you might think. (With the new title of course!) lol. BTW, this was also inspired, and I spose since I'm here, is dedicated to Cassie Bernall, and every martyr for christianity.

joel.. do you need to talk? because.. if art is a vent of our feelings.. this is kind of freakin me out. however, if your not suicidal.. this is awesome. i especially like the light spot on the kids eye. actually i like everything about the kids eye.the finers are nice too. i could never draw fingers like that, that well... you rock JO-EL!

Artist Reply: I'm not suicidal Nicky, if you will do a little experiment you will see that it isimpossible for the person in the picture to be holding the gun by which side of the hand is shown. I really thought about drawing the hand so that you wouldn't be able to tell if it was the person in the pic or somebody else... but I figured it would be easier this way. lol
