Third Rome

When this work was exhibited, before it was acquired by Alfa Bank, I was asked many times, "Why is the she-wolf two-headed?" I answered, "And why wouldn't she be?" I simply synthesized the Capitoline she-wolf with the Russian (Byzantium) eagle. But the eagle is an emblem, a symbol? And so is the she-wolf. And the emerged beast is perhaps more expressive than the two-headed bird-mutant, in any case, it corresponds better with the term "Ancient Rome."
