Sun Spots 3

Welded recycled steel and mixed media, 60" by 34" by 15", copyright 2004 This is the third of five totems in a series titled "sun Spots", designed to bring light and liveliness to anyone's garden. Placed in the proper orientation, these works reflect the suns rays with such intensity that they are almost impossible to view without serious squinting! The effect is usually brief, lasting only a few minutes in the morning and again in the afternoon, and not every day, but if you're there to see it, it is quite rewarding. The rest of the time, it stands as a reminder that the sun will always come out!

Interesting construction and I'm sure the effects from the sunlight are breath-taking. You take the ordinary everyday things and turn them into functional works of art.
