The Watchful Visitor — Maui Myna Bird

Perched confidently upon the rugged volcanic rocks of Maui, a Common Myna pauses to survey its surroundings. Its brilliant yellow eyes, golden beak, and warm brown plumage create a striking contrast against the weathered gray stone. Originally introduced to the Hawaiian Islands, the Common Myna has become a familiar and remarkably adaptable resident. Known for its intelligence, bold personality, and expressive behavior, this often-overlooked bird possesses a character all its own. Captured in a quiet moment, this wildlife portrait celebrates the unexpected beauty found in Maui's everyday natural encounters. Fine art wildlife photography by Theron Peck | Peck Photography Art.
