Photo of the upper Mezuzah was taken, Feb 26, 2026.
Photos below taken on March 1, 2026.
For the backgrounds of my image below, I used hand-painted fabrics made by me. ( 1998, 1988 )
Silversmithing by my father, Aharon Dabush. Circa 1995.
In his memory, RIH.
This mezuzah, which was designed, made, and fixed for me by my father, was on the door jamb of my apartment until recently.
A handwritten parchment was inserted into it. The opening through which the parchment could be seen was closed with a piece of silk fabric, which I designed myself for this mezuzah.
Over the years, every now and then, I would clean it with the mezuzah mounted on the door jamb.
After a while, I noticed that it had become very black. Somehow, I gave it time to pass, although I had planned to clean it.
In February 2026, I felt a strong need to clean it and replace it with a very simple mezuzah, which I had bought.
My father's Mezuzah was not easy to take it off, much less pull the old parchment out of it to check its integrity.
After I removed the parchment, I discovered, to my astonishment, that it was damaged and sooty.
At the same time, we replaced the mezuzah and the parchment.
I cleaned the mezuzah with several materials to remove the soot from it.
I buried the old mezuzah parchment.
About two days later, the "Lion's Roar" war broke out.
Coincidences that are not coincidences.
And the question is, how is it possible that the mezuzah is sooted?
Prayers for better people, better world,
Better education of people and kids, for good caring behavior.
In the pursuit of permanent, sustainable peace.
Love and peace forever.
