A Tyrannosaurus rex hunting on a starry, cloudless night in the Late Cretaceous. This artwork was completed in November 2025 on a 16"x20" cold press illustration board using a combination of charcoal and graphite pencils. In addition, charcoal powder and brushes were used for both the night sky and dust. The majority of the stars are based upon a real chart including several constellations (Little Dipper, Big Dipper, Cassiopeia, and Cepheus). The charcoal pencils used ranged from HB to 6B while the graphite pencils included 6H, 2H, H, 2B & 6B.
