And finally the flood comes

Oil on canvas, 80 x 60 cm (31.5 x 23.6 in), 2023. This image portrays a surreal scene of a man being swept away by floodwaters, surrounded by a swirl of personal belongings. The man appears calm, almost serene, as he floats amidst the chaos. Scattered around him are various objects from his life: books, a radio, a bottle, a musical instrument, a hat, a clock, and colorful household items. The water, stylized with fluid and vibrant waves of blue and purple, seems to engulf everything, symbolizing the overwhelming force of the flood. The painting captures a sense of loss, memory, and helplessness, as everyday objects drift away, highlighting the emotional and material impact of a natural disaster.
