This was the nickname that Jesus gave to the 2 brothers (James & John) back when they were chosen as disciples (Mark 3:17) but this illustration & scripture will be taking place 3 years later. This illustration scene happens in the upper room at the start of what we now know as “The Last Supper”. Jesus said this to all the 12 disciples & it’s interesting (to me) that both that nickname & this scripture only appear in Mark’s gospel.
