I remember so well the day I took this photo. I was driving my son to visit his friend about an hour’s drive away. On the way we were deep into a discussion about music, which we often still do, and I was so focused on our conversation that I missed a turn and ended up where I had no choice but to go through the tunnel to the other side of the Oslofjord. The tolls are quite high, but if you return within a short period of time, you don’t pay twice. No problem, I thought! However, by the time I had turned the car around, a camper had caught fire in the opposite side of the tunnel so it was closed! Oh well, detours lead to the most beautiful places…….so I’ve heard! This photo will always remind of a looooong detour!
