“Maharani” is the feminine form of the word “maharajah”, which is the term for Indian royalty. This figure, in her beautiful white sari-like gown with metallic gold trim, is the archetype Indian goddess or queen. The background is in some of the bright colors that personify the joyful, colorful Indian culture—hot pink, turquoise, kiwi green and warm orange. This piece is the second in my series of “Cultural Goddesses and Queens", all of which will be in this 10” x 30” elongated format.
