This is a watercolor painting, painted in several layers to bring the depth and denseness of the forest, and yet maintaining that beautiful glow of sunlight. And this is a special print on Wood. There is a Japanese term “Komorebi”, translates as “the scattered light that filters through when sunlight shines through trees”. That is exactly what inspired me to paint this piece of art. Komorebi is especially noticeable when the sun is low, and mist adds to the effect. The impact of Komorebi to the observer can range from creating a pleasant ambiance for a walk through the woods, to generating feelings of awe. It is interesting to know how different cultures inspires us and our functioning as well.
