(c) 1985 Elton Houck... " OLDS 88 " THIS WORK IS PAINTED ON A SHEAF OF A COMMON EVERYDAY CITY NEWPAPER PAGE. It measures 13" X 22" and is painted with felt markers, pastels, ink, acrylic gel medium, polyurethane. The pensive look is a dreamy state of the model showcasing his reverie as he dreams of--an Olds 88..The newspaper print reveals an 88 on his chin... .--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Flag Counter ======

I'll take 5 lbs of 88 cents a pound chuck roast, please. I'm gonna make a big batch of stew. What? It's time-limited! Seems I'm not the only artist who keeps a slice or two of the past around. I think it's just to haunt us or maybe poke us a little. Nice thoughtful work, Elton. Love all those patterns in the background. :)

Artist Reply: Thank you Charles....you know what is amazing to me about the response to this newspaper art is not that no one mentioned how odd it was to paint on newspaper,,,,but instead, I am susprised that no one has asked "WHAT IS AN OLDS 88?"....We two are old enough to know that a Rocket 88 is not part of the space program. lol...
