Soft Pastel on Pastelmat card, 24 x 30 cm. On-site sketch done y'day at -2 C (windchill-8C) whereby I lasted 20-25 min at the lake and added a further 30 min work in the studio. Used Faber-Castell pastels, harder than Schminke, Unison but softer than Nu-Pastel. Fixative not required with this excellent substrate. The lake is Lac Grüyère near Fribourg/Bulle , it is the dammed up segment of the river Saane, the painting being made from the dam wall.
