I became a fan of Rory Gallagher in July 2019. I had heard of him for many years but rarely had a chance to hear any of his music - until Spotify. Sit tight while I try to explain what happened upon my first hearing of RG (Deuce). Have you ever heard music so good that you became immediately obsessed? And then discovered what a nice, friendly person that musician was, not arrogant and always thinking highly of himself? And amazed that the talent he possessed was God-given and that he taught himself to play every instrument he tried? That the guy took time to sit with fans and show them how one of his songs was played? Plus handsome, terrific hair and sported the best chops ever? Sounds perfect, doesn't he? Well, Rory does to me anyway. Swept away? Oh yeah, I was. So much so that within a month I made this first attempt at drawing him. It was also my very first attempt at pastel pencil. Personally I am not that thrilled with this. My forte is graphite pencil, but I am not unhappy with it either.
