Double Arch

This picture of Double Arch is a print from my original painting. Double Arch is painted with gouache watercolor in the Photo-realism style. Double Arch is a pair of natural arches in Arches National Park, Utah, that is one of the better-known landmarks of the park. Double Arch was formed differently from most of the arches in the park. It is a pothole arch, formed by water erosion from above rather than more typical erosion from the side. The larger opening is 148 feet wide and 104 feet high. These dimensions give the arch the highest opening and second longest span in the park. A great gift for the hiker.
