Maine Shore

Initially, I was planning to do a more realistic and detailed painting of the Maine Coast. However, once I got going the painting developed on its own in a more abstract way, perhaps as I had become entranced by the color of the rocks I found myself OK with result as a more abstract representation of the scene that i had initially intended. There is precious and elusive beauty in knowing when to let things develop on their own and avoid force-fitting a project into its plan. Medium/Surface: oil/smooth hardboard panel Dimensions (in.): 14 x 18 x .13 Date Signed: 22 November 2019 Content/Style: landscape/abstract
