For over a decade a family friend of ours has come from town to walk his dog in the orchard. No matter what the season, it was not unusual to catch a glimpse the inseparable duo through the trees. But alas, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and Bobby has walked her last. When I saw her owner, alone, last week I was struck with sadness but also thought of how overwhelmingly blessed we are to enjoy the mere companionship of our dogs.
