See larger preview: http://kimartanddesign.com/preview-BIG-RED.htm About this painting: "Big Red" is a very old sequoia semperviren redwood, estimated 2000 years of age. Semperviren means 'forever living' in Latin. It is located in the Mattole headwaters forest, untouched by logging and rarely entered by humans. The Mattole community succeeded with historic efforts to preserve different areas of this forest, including Big Red, which sparked the creation of Sanctuary Forest in 1987. Today this ancient sequoia is under the stewardship of SanctuaryForest.org. 50% of the proceeds of this Big Red painting limited edition print is donated to the non-profit organization. Your support helps to keep forest preservation at work. KimARTandDesign.com
