,Sergei Dovlatov (born in 1941 in USSR and died in 1990 in New York City) was a Russian journalist and writer of Armenian and Jewish origin. Internationally, he is one of the most popular Russian writers of the late 20th century. During his short life, he fought against the Soviet regime. He was not allowed to publish any of his books in USSR and therefore emigrated in USA, where he published his entire work. A movie was made about his life (2018). I am very attracted by his literature and his personality; that's why, I entitled "Dovlatov" this portrait of a man. -Oil on canvas, 92 x 66 cm, 2018
