Pope Pius XII was born Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli and was pope from 1939-1958. He declared the dogma of The bodily Assumption of Mary into Heaven in 1950. He was declared venerable by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009.
