Seascape

This is my attempt to counter the popular seaside image of mermaids as blonde, buxom eye-candy...in years gone by mermaids were feared, as they were thought to control the storms. I wanted to suggest a parallel of mermaids with women...often women are presented as eye-candy, not respected as people.

Awesome seascape and nice mermaids...the one with her face towards the viewer reminds me a little of the character of Smeagol/Gollum in "Lord of the Rings"!

i like the sky and the moon and the mermaids and the sea but the one whose face is showing.. she looks sort of crazed for me this destroys a very nice piece
