Oil on canvas. Larger 50 x 40 cm studio version of a smaller 24 x 30 cm on-site study. Shows the view looking across the lagoon towards Guidecca with the famous Il Chiese di Redentore (Church of the Redeemer), designed and mostly built by Andrea Paladdio, completed after his death in 1592. Painting modified in Jan.2018 by quietening the sky thus marrying better the silhouette of the buildings with the sun's reflections.
