Bald Eagle

Bald Eagle I was not going to share this one, but a very good friend of mine talked me into posting it. A family friend had asked me to complete unfinished artwork of somebody's... so I have basically changed it completely and used a free stock photo off of the internet for reference. Acrylic on stretched canvas. 2006

Such a challenge to complete someone else's artwork. You have doe a masterful job. Love the back ground Blue.

Artist Reply: Hi Jeff, thanks for the compliment. Yes, it was hard painting over someone else's artwork. My friend really liked the cartoon like head of the Eagle, so I kept the shape re-did the whole body and where the Eagle was standing. I didn't enjoy doing the feathers... I almost went abstract/impressionistic on them, but kept raining myself in. lol She really liked it so my job was done. I will, never ever, retouch another artist's artwork again though. I did not even sign it. Cheers,
