A mixed media piece using many materials including tape, glue, gems, paper, canvas, ink and whatever was on my art table at the time. The tag states, "Styles come and go but Girlfriends are forever." My dear artist and poet friend from across the Big Pond, after seeing this, immediately penned the following poem to accompany it: GIRLFRIENDS BY JACQUEI ESSEX G irly creation in soft colours so sweet. I n gossamer like shapes and textures so neat. R oses, tiny flowers and brush strokes so sheer, L ight that shines softly from behind clouds it does peer. F eelings of happiness on hearts it does crown, R evealing from within a dainty pretty gown, I n pastel like colours of purple, pink and silky grey, E ach hue gently covering the canvas in every which way, N ever forgetting friends that fill our heart, D isplaying a creation of great and amazing art, S tylish and new.
