Artist comment: "Not a typical 'kite' a creature is never-the-less a familiar sight at kite festivals everywhere. Generally they are animal shapes from frogs and dogs to pigs and cats and more. This bright and cheerful yellow gecko was floating over the beach on one such occasion. I photographed it for painting in pastel later. In my studio, using the snapshots for reference, I sketched the subject with horizon line and small craft (for interest). I began with sky and sea using soft pastel in compatible shades of blue. I began the gecko using yellow, pink, and orange. When satisfied with the values, I painted the eyes and lines."

Prints on paper are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are shrink wrapped on fome board.
