Commissioned work Japanese Theme

On a 30 X 50 4 ply cold press mat I created, drew, and injected stone ground minerals. By building the creation I was able to capture the illusion so desired. The Japanese style home behind the Three story is a copy of a home I lived in while serving in Vietnam 1963-66'

REALLY BEAUTIFUL WORK SCOTTY. LOVE THE SOFTNESS. VERY INVITING. JOANIE

Artist Reply: Joanie . This Work was a commission piece at a request from a longtime friend of mine, That never knew after working for 20 years together that I was ever an artist. When He retired. and had gotten remarried, he and his new bride picked my art to grace their new home. For an artist that is about the best compliment that can ever be paid to us. He was really looking at my work , that came out like an Monet to be his pick for me to do. Also He was really interested in one of my Japanese works that was titled Pagoda a japanese Tea house. After researching the Tea house I informed him that due to it being a stretch not a drafting drawing it would be not available. The corners did not meet and it would be impossible for me to reproduce a likeness of it. So I came up with doing him a three story Gold papillion and that could put the four story Black Cherry tree at his request. There was some space left that i talk him in to letting me draw the home my family lived in Japan. While I was in Vietnam. For three years I live in a style two story I would call it a caretakers home. So then I just added japanese beauty to bring it alive. As with all my art they have stories and people like the stories as well as they do the art. Thanks again . The family has ten of my works gracing the walls of thier custom home.
