Colored birche in the valley of St. Emilian

I am continuing my journey through the forests of the Italian Alps, in front of me on a beautiful winter day, it is the walls of the valley and Mount San Emiliano, I imagine a valley covered with trees, and above it there is a large sanctuary, the 'Sanctuary of San Emiliano and San Tirso, probably built around the year 1200 AD, in these places there is also a great devotion to Saint Cecilia, I'm still far from the sanctuary, I stopped taking notes sketches, to imagine the daily life of times gone by the locals, old trees that seem to me the guardians of the historical events of travelers, medieval knights who crossed the valleys, but also the recent history in these areas during the Second World War, there were many battles fought by partisans ..... I continue my journey, my next goal: go to the shrine and on top of Mount San Emiliano ... hello soon ...
