This reminds me of the #1 Ladies' Detective Agency written by Alexander McCall Smith. The stories are set in Botswana, an African country bordering South Africa where men would leave their villages for years and work in the mines ruining their health to bring back wealth to their family. They had to leave behind everyone they loved, and the wives waited for their return. Great reading, well researched. I highly recommend the books are light and interesting reading. This image reminds me of the main character's father who left and came back with ruined lungs and put his daughter through school before he died. Special feelings rise in me when I look at your paintings.
