Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnici)

Basilica Cistern (or Yerbatan Sarnici in Turkish) was built in 6th century with the aim to provide water to the Byzantine palaces from that period onward, including to Topkapi palace after the Ottoman conquest. It is considered to be the biggest cistern of that period.
