These are my great-grandparents in a photo of 1994. She was 72 and he was 73. As far as I’m aware this is the only picture of them we have. They lived abroad and in 1994 we visited them. I presume they stayed somewhere in England because we travelled by boat. Now that I’ve come to think of it: it’s rather strange that my granny didn’t join us. They are her parents after all. I don’t seem to remember a lot of that particular holiday however. Only that there was a lot of chatter of which obviously I didn’t understand anything at all. Actually, I realize that I know very little about my family history. Did my great-grandparents move to England or were they born there? How come my grandmother turned up here?
